  • SubTrap

    From $699

    Bass Refined

You keep your subwoofer's volume turned down and the crossover set low so it can “support” the bottom end without drowning out the music. But... you know you can do better. The SubTrap absorbs excess bass (the bad, muddy bass) and decouples your subwoofer from the floor and elevates it out of the vertical mode stimulation zone. While increasing bass extension and punch, the SubTrap also gets rid of the dreaded "one note bass". Utilizing our patented Isothermal technology to boost the low bass absorption, the ASC SubTrap should be the foundation of your acoustic control plan. It's much more than a simple vibration isolation stand... now you can "raise" your subwoofer to its full performance potential. Simply place your subwoofer atop the SubTrap. You'll instantly improve sonic detail, changing “fuzzy” playback into a richly detailed picture by lowering the running noise floor of the room in the all-important low bass range. From there, build your musical experience with rich harmonics and a lush, and immersive soundstage. You'll hear musical bass lines you never knew existed!

  • The MatrixPanel, designed for use when your listening position is near a wall, softening the sonic reflection of the wall without deadening the sound.

  • WallDamp

    From $44
WallDamp is a component of ASC's IsoWall System, used to construct walls & ceilings that reduce sound transmission by 20dB or greater compared to standard interior walls. Combining vibrational damping with classic resilient channel decoupling makes our wall system among the highest available using standard single-stud construction. Internally, the walls are tempered to move with the air pressure of bass frequencies. Where a rigid wall would shudder at high volumes (similar to the distortion in an overdriven speaker) and raise the noise floor of the room considerably, an IsoWall will "bend" with the pressure and absorb the sub bass sound wave to prevent excessive low frequency reverberation. Create a sociable sonic landscape. Convert any room with a gypboard, wood or plaster ceiling into a class act, a room that looks beautiful and sounds even better, and yet, it's all so naturally comfortable, no one even notices. The ASC Coffered Ceiling system was developed to help rooms support multiple simultaneous conversations without over damping the ambiance. It's busy, busy, busy all around you and yet, it stays clear and calm where you are, no matter where you are. Every table is a good table. You are waiting tables and as you move from table to table, it's always busy out there, but the calm seems to follow where ever you go. • The ASC Acoustic Test Signal

Explore the musical intelligibility and the sonic image-ability of your audio system This test is a rapid gated slow sine sweep. It demonstrates the musical clarity vs frequency of the HiFi system in your room. In some ranges of sound you will hear strong rapid dynamic sound level changes while in other ranges the tone bursts blur together in reverberant chaos. You can also hear the more familiar peaks and valleys of your room. Then play it again but this time close your eyes and concentrate on the sound stage of this perfectly mono signal. In some tone ranges the image stays put; stage center, small and tight, where it belongs. But the next tone range sees the image lose focus and fluff up into a ball of fog. And yet another sees the image up and wander off, flying around the sound stage like Peter Pan. The objective of performing the MATT test in your listening room is to determine where you might move your speakers, listening position, and/or where to add acoustic treatment to your room to obtain the highest quality sound possible from the components in your listening environment. Play the MATT test first over headphones and then in your room. You hear a scale of rapid tone bursts that any HiFi system should be able to reproduce. Your system could but it can't because the room keeps getting in the way. Then concentrate on the sound stage. It's a mono signal and the image should stay stage center, tight and focused, but it doesn't. How fast is your room? Most audiophiles know how loud they can play their room before it begins to break up. Even the speakers have a breakup threshold, above which we begin to hear cone breakup and box buzz. The MATT test is an easy way to ring out your room without risking doing damage to structure or gear due to sustained power at one frequency. At lower sound levels it checks out the room acoustic part of your listening experience, sorting out clear dynamic bandwidths from blurred bandwidths.

  • SuperTrap

    From $649
Sometimes we need more absorption at a certain frequency or bandwidth than the standard TubeTrap for that same frequency range can provide. That’s when SuperTraps are called into play. SuperTraps are TubeTraps tuned to operate to lower frequency than their standard counterparts. They are standard TubeTraps whose interior has been fit with acoustic circuitry to reshape their frequency response curve in the bass range, creating more efficiency in one tuned bandwidth at the expense of efficiency in the sidebands.
