WallDamp is a component of ASC's IsoWall System, used to construct walls & ceilings that reduce sound transmission by 20dB or greater compared to standard interior walls. Combining vibrational damping with classic resilient channel decoupling makes our wall system among the highest available using standard single-stud construction. Internally, the walls are tempered to move with the air pressure of bass frequencies. Where a rigid wall would shudder at high volumes (similar to the distortion in an overdriven speaker) and raise the noise floor of the room considerably, an IsoWall will "bend" with the pressure and absorb the sub bass sound wave to prevent excessive low frequency reverberation. Metal channel used within the IsoWall system to decouple the drywall from the framing. Proper installation results in zero mechanical connection between the drywall and framing members. Its design also allows flexure of the walls which promotes shear stress inside the damping material, adding deep bass trapping to your room's acoustic treatment. Suitable for both walls and ceiling. When used in the IsoWall system, spacing on walls is 24" on center, on ceilings 12" on center. Do not overhang the last stud or joist by more than 6 inches.

Bituminous material used within the IsoWall system to secure the edges of your drywall to nailers. The thickness matches that of our damped resilient channel, maintaining a flat wall surface and allowing the proper flexure of the drywall to provide deep bass absorption.

RC Pads are small pieces of our WallDamp material that are placed between Damped Resilient Channel and your framing. These serve to further reduce the sound transmission between your critical listening room and the outside world beyond that of your typical resilient channel soundproofing. High performance audio rooms are so quiet inside and so acoustically fast in response that as the music plays, sounds and tones come and go quickly. When a tone slightly shakes the floating wall, which happens to be the same frequency as the resonance of the supporting stud, the stud is stimulated onto movement.

ASC WallWool Sound Barrier has 10x more absorption that standard wall fiberglass insulation. ASC WallWool has been formulated to provide maximum sound attenuation in a relatively thin package. There is no fiberglass resin adhesive in this material and no odor.
