ASC recently finished working with Michael Harting, helping him to build a High Performance Audio Listening Room.
Phase 1
The first phase of the project was the design and building of the room. Michael tells us he did most of the work himself, utilizing the Iso-Wall™ Construction System from ASC. This system uses a floated constrained layer damping technique to provide low frequency control and prevent wall shudder–which can distort the sound.
Phase 2
In phase 2, we tackled the interior acoustics phase of the project. Working closely with Michael, we came up with an acoustic design plan that included:
- TubeTraps
- StudioTraps
- SoundFlags
- Custom ASC Baseboard Baffles
Upon completion of the project, Michael dropped us a line and had this to say:
By shortly after noon we had the side traps aligned, and were playing music. The room is very articulate with the slightest sound being easily heard. The sound of the stereo is magical, and we were both quite impressed. The next day the VTL MB 450’s showed up in a truck on a pallet. The truck had a lift gate so I was able to get the things on the ground and onto a dolly. Once I got them wired up and playing the sound went to a whole new dimension. The amps really made the speakers disappear. Now my music library is all new and ready for exploration again. Please tell Art that we enjoyed meeting you all.
