Description

The standard CablePassThru is intended for interior use with cables up to 3/8″ in diameter, at which point the capacity is 6 cables per CablePassThru. However, the capacity approaches 20 with the use of smaller cables.

The unit stops sound leakage by use of a system of memory foam and the mass of the doors. Despite the cutting of a hole through your wall, the CablePassThru also maintains the seal between the wall interior and your room, preventing dirt and insulation from reaching your cables, hands, or room surfaces.

The CablePassThru system is simple and versatile, allowing for an infinite number of cable combinations and changes with no complex circuitry, soldering or difficult rewiring. This makes it a perfect complement to existing patch panels or wall plate solutions. Simply thread the cable through, then close and tighten the doors. It’s that easy.

Made from lacquer-coated medium density fiberboard, the CablePassThru is tough enough to withstand the rigors of a research laboratory or public school atmosphere. And for even rougher or particularly sensitive interior environments, mild steel and stainless steel versions are available through our custom shop.

As a result of recording studios’ need to pass cables through soundproof walls, ASC engineers invented the CablePassThru. Thus, when medical facilities, university research departments, and high-tech gadget development firms began purchasing CPTs, it became clear that the increasing variety of signal cables, including optical and digital, resulted in expanded use of the CablePassThru. (Even into other, more clandestine applications!)

Both cabinet doors seal airtight around the cables, holding them securely and safely in position. They are easy to open, swinging up and out of the way for a clear passage. The result is a quick and easy cable addition or change out. A neoprene seal tunnel interconnects the two wall mount cabinet doors to allow for a wide variation of wall widths. Meanwhile, installation is simple and requires little more than an 8.75″ x 5.75″ hole thru the wall.

CPTC 1 The original CablePassThru cabinet continues to be available in CNC-milled wood base, memory foam seals and multi-coat lacquer paint. Standard finish is gloss texture black. Custom color options incur a surcharge.
CPTC 2 Second generation is optimized for use in surgical centers and other clean environments. It retains the same basic CNC formed cabinet interior and cable seal system. A textured powder-coated mild steel shell and door provides extra protection and easy cleaning. Available in black or white.
