Room Speed part 2. Art Noxon, PE Acoustic shares his knowledge on room speed in this 3-part video series
Art Noxon is a fully accredited Acoustical Engineer with Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering/Acoustics and Physics. A Professional Engineer since 1982, he is licensed in Oregon to practice engineering in the public domain with the specialty area of acoustics. A prolific inventor, he developed and patented the iconic TubeTrap, the original corner-loaded bass trap/treble diffuser, 150 other acoustic devices, and counting. Lecturer, writer, and teacher of acoustics, he has presented 7 AES papers, numerous magazine articles, white papers and blogs. He is president of Acoustic Sciences Corporation, the company he founded in 1984.
Half of our factory is dedicated to produce certain product lines. The rest is dedicated to new product development, prototypes and short run pre-production lines. This diversity in our capability keeps us always ready to tackle a new project or crank out some more of our old and well known products. Our products are typically fairly complex compared to the common sound panels and acoustic foam products.
We continue to staff ASC with the most talented team players we can find. Most of our customers are people who have a complicated acoustic project to finish, a deadline and a budget. Our specialty is that we can develop and create new products, on schedule and within the budget. Generally, we solve the problem, fabricate the needed parts and ship them to the client with installation instructions.
ASC has remained in Eugene, Oregon under the same ownership since its inception: Arthur Noxon. Physicist, PE of Acoustical Engineering, inventor of the TubeTrap, and founder of ASC, our fearless leader still finds the time to be Chief Executive, President, Mechanical Consultant, R&D Manager, and Lead Engineer at ASC. He also remains the face of ASC at trade shows, educational events, and industry conventions.
