Tired of floor-ceiling reflections and vertical resonant modes wreaking havoc with your monitor response? You can achieve broadband acoustic improvement using this specially adapted set of TubeTraps designed just for monitors.
The MonitorStand is a broadband absorptive product, built without diffusers unless they are specifically requested. Our mentality is: "launch a clean wave, and half the acoustic battle is won."  The MonitorStand arrangement is a quintessential demonstration of this concept.

  • SuperTrap

Sometimes we need more absorption at a certain frequency or bandwidth than the standard TubeTrap for that same frequency range can provide. That’s when SuperTraps are called into play. SuperTraps are TubeTraps tuned to be more aggressive at specific frequencies. They are standard TubeTraps whose interior has been fit with acoustic circuitry to reshape their frequency response curve in the bass range, creating more efficiency in one tuned bandwidth at the expense of efficiency in the sidebands.
  • TowerTrap

The TowerTrap is a corner loaded bass trap that was designed to resemble a HiFi loudspeaker. It was developed specifically to address those customers looking for high performance audio with a designer look that is so subtle, it nearly disappears. The tri-corner of a room transforms and compresses all of the acoustic energy in a sound wave into pure pressure fluctuations. TowerTraps are designed to take full advantage of the acoustic pressure zones created in the corners of a room. The design of the TowerTrap converts these pressure changes into air movement, and, through the regulated friction in the walls of the TowerTrap, energy is damped out of the sound wave.

  • Half Round TubeTrap Isothermal

The Half Round TubeTrap is a versatile evolution of the TubeTrap, allowing the same sound-busting power of the TubeTrap to be wall or ceiling mounted. The unique and effective design of Half Round TubeTraps combine broadband absorption, diffusion, and directional control of sound reflections to reduce noise levels while maintaining room brightness and enhancing image resolution. This design approach results in compact and modular units that can be placed in patterns on walls, ceilings, and in corners of any room. The TubeTrap is the foremost corner loaded bass trap in the audio industry. It was only natural that ASC would adapt the same technology to fit flush into corners, walls and ceilings. Art Noxon, inventor of the revered TubeTrap, went to work on the physics and before long, the Fractional TubeTrap was born. Used mainly by audiophiles and recording engineers, the Fractional TubeTrap is used to fine tune room acoustics. Built-in diffusive wide angle treble backscattering above 400Hz and absorption down to 55Hz maintain room brightness and enhances detail and articulation as well as image resolution. ASC custom builds your Fractional just the way you want it, because no two rooms are exactly alike.

  • CoolTrap

A basic “building block” for architects and interior designers concerned about the acoustic properties of their designs, the CoolTrap provides specular (softly scattered) treble diffusion from 250 Hz to 4 kHz, which gives smooth vocal range absorption. The modular 12” x 12” size opens up nearly unlimited possibilities for use on walls and ceilings.

  • SubTrap

Raise your subwoofer up to its full performance potential. The SubTrap is more than a simple isolation stand. In addition to isolation, it absorbs excess bass and decouples your sub-woofer from room modes. Only from ASC. You were trying to reach the musical blue sky but you ended up with the subwoofer blues. There it is, moaning and groaning on the floor, up against a wall or in a corner. Maybe deep bass is supposed to sound this way, drab, sluggish and boring. You keep the volume turned down and the crossover set low so your sub can "support" the bottom end without drowning out the music. And sometimes it seems like it's almost not worth the effort. Subwoofers actually do play a musical bass line. By getting the sub up off the floor and onto a SubTrap, you finally get to hear the sub woofer.  The SubTrap floats the sub off the floor to eliminate sympathetic structural vibration and at the same time adds a bass trap to damp the buildup of room modes that couple to the subwoofer.
  • WindowPlug

The WindowPlug is perfect for stopping sound transmission through windows without permanently sealing the window. Like all ASC soundproofing products, the WindowPlug uses our exclusive WallDamp visco-elastic material to eliminate vibration.

  • The PlanarTrap is a freestanding acoustic room component designed to control strong boundary reflections off side, front and back walls - while also providing an added degree of low frequency bass absorption. A free-standing absorber, combined with a poly-diffusive back panel is ideal for controlling strong boundary reflections off walls, windows and doors. The first ASC flat panel product able to be used to absorb crosstalk reflections and scatter near wall reflections. Improve imaging clarity while adding ambience and stage width. Planar Traps can be put to great use in asymmetrical rooms to help bring balance to the listening area.

...but useful in any application where appearance is of the utmost importance.  Repeated requests from Architects inspired our R & D department to design a sound absorbing panel which met three goals: 1) bring sonic and visual calmness, 2) blend well into a home theater, and 3) pass the WAF. We tried dozens of ideas, polling staff, consultants, and customers alike to find the broadest aesthetic appeal.
Finally, we arrived at the CinemaPanel.  At 2" thickness, this panel will not require adjustment of your seating arrangement to fit.  The standard size is 12" x 48" and can be mounted vertically or horizontally depending on your visual and sonic needs. Line both walls of your Theater room with CinemaPanels spaced about one foot apart to bring the true cinema experience to your Home Theater. Lose yourself in the movie as the 3D imaging is perfectly tuned for every seat in the room.

Cinema Panels serve a variety of roles beyond use in Home Theaters:
    • Sidewall reflection control in HiFi use
    • Live room flutter echo control in Studio use
    • Reverberation control in band/rehearsal rooms
    • Praise band stage noise control in churches
    • Rear wall diffusion for Control room use
    • General reverberation control throughout the home
  • WallDamp

With the Walldamp Iso-Wall System, you get walls & ceilings that reduce sound transmission by 20dB or greater compared to standard interior walls. That is more than quadruple the perceived sound volume reduction, which is what makes our wall system the highest available using standard single-stud construction. Internally, the walls are tempered to move with the air pressure of bass frequencies. Where a rigid wall would shudder at high volumes (similar to the distortion in an overdriven speaker) and raise the noise floor of the room considerably, an IsoWall will "bend" with the pressure and absorb the sub bass sound wave while allowing the bass waves to reverberate cleanly. • When floor real estate is precious, the ASC AcousticSoffit is the answer to your bass trapping, treble control, and diffusion needs.  By utilizing a large air cavity surrounded by a flow-resistive membrane made from porous absorptive material, the AcousticSoffit provides the benefits of flat wall panels and large-diameter free standing TubeTraps in a tidy, easy-to-install package. This is a custom engineered product, sized specifically to integrate into your room and make it sound--and look--its best.  Our standard size unit protrudes 16" from the wall and 10" down from the ceiling.  This works extremely well for most rooms, and is roughly equivalent to installing 16" TubeTraps along the entire length of your wall/ceiling intersection! ASC engineering has taken care of the mathematics to ensure that your room remains sonically controlled without becoming over-deadened.  You will hear much more sonic detail from your speakers, from fine string work in orchestral passages to crystal-clear movie dialog and singers.  True broadband control can be yours as musical bass lines emerge and sparkling ambience surrounds you. The ASC AcousticSoffit is a one-stop acoustic treatment that in many cases will be all you need.

Sound waves emanate from a loudspeaker in much the same way as a beam of light radiates from its source. And, like the beam of light, will be reflected off nearby surfaces. These reflections can be beneficial or deleterious depending upon their intensity and time of arrival, in relation to the direct sound from the speaker. Reflections arriving too soon (early reflections) after the direct sound, confuse the ear/brain, creating chaos in the image, defocusing and confusing the three dimensional recreation we strive for.

MATT  - The ASC Acoustic Test Signal

....play it first over headphones and then in your room.  You hear a scale of rapid tone bursts that any HiFi system should be able to reproduce.  Your system could but it can't because the room keeps getting in the way.  Then concentrate on the sound stage.  It's a mono signal and the image should stay stage center, tight and focused.  But it doesn't. This test is a rapid gated slow sine sweep.  It demonstrates the musical clarity vs frequency of the HiFi system in your room.  In some ranges of sound you will hear strong rapid dynamic sound level changes while in other ranges the tone bursts blur together in reverberant chaos.  You can also hear the more familiar peaks and valleys of your room.  Then play it again but this time close your eyes and concentrate on the sound stage of this perfectly mono signal.  In some tone ranges the image stays put; stage center, small and tight, where it belongs.  But the next tone range sees the image lose focus and fluff up into a ball of fog. And yet another sees the image up and wander off, flying around the sound stage like Peter Pan. The objective of performing the MATT test in your listening room is to determine where you might move your speakers, listening position, and/or where to add acoustic treatment to your room to obtain the highest quality sound possible from the components in your listening environment. To explore the musical intelligibility and the sonic image-ability of your audio system... How fast is your room? Most audiophiles know how loud they can play their room before it begins to breakup. Even the speakers have a breakup threshold, above which we begin to hear cone breakup and box buzz. The MATT test is an easy way to ring out your room without risking doing damage to structure or gear due to sustained power at one frequency. At lower sound levels it checks out the room acoustic part of your listening experience, sorting out clear dynamic bandwidths from blurred bandwidths.
