Why do I need a “fast” room?

Remember: the room is the last link in your audio playback signal chain so we realize the importance of listening room speed You’ve exerted tremendous effort to maintain the purity and linearity of the signal all the way to your speakers – why would you neglect the final stage? If you want tight and accurate bass, your room needs to be fast.

What is “Room Speed?”

Below, on the left, we see a slow room that does not track level changes well. The right trace shows a much faster room that tracks dynamics appropriately.
