Working hours:Variable (20-40 hrs/wk)Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm
This is not a full-time
position.We are seeking people who
are able to be flexible with their work schedule.The hours of this position vary with our
production needs and business volume.Some weeks may only require 20 hrs, while other weeks we may need
you for a full 40. If you require
full-time work right now, this does not offer that.(20-30 hrs/wk is more realistic).A variable work schedule needs to appeal
to your life-style and long-term needs.
General Summary:
Light production, similar
to furniture or cabinet building. We design and make interior acoustic control
products for recording studios, high-end audio, home theaters, churches, restaurants,
and other commercial spaces--and we ship these all over the world.About half our work is on standard
products and the other half are short run, complicated and beautiful custom
projects.
Familiarity with hand and table top power tools and proven
mechanical aptitude is essential. We have a variety of positions. College
or military experience is very welcome. We are a drug free company and are
looking for long term, team players who work best in a lightly supervised
but closely coordinated team setting, people who want to see the big
picture and do their part to make it happen.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
Uses table saws, band saws, drill presses,
router, shaper, chop saw, panel saw, radial arm, belt sander, lathe, glue
and solder guns, rotary shears, commercial sewing machines, and other
small shop production tools and equipment.
Develops and utilizes production model for
building product.
Builds jigs and fixtures for temporary parts
fabrication & assembly.
Finishing department, includes lacquer paint and
fabric covering
Knowledge, Skills
and Abilities Required:
Previous shop experience, background and
education.
Sketching, Drafting, Visio or CAD experience a plus.
Ability to read working drawings & blueprints
and use standard measuring devices.
Must be self-motivated with a mindset for short-run
production line setups.
Knowledge of and experience with continuous flow
manual production methods.
Organized,
recording manufacturing steps, saving production jigs.
Ability to think clearly, work
safely and efficiently, and ask for help before getting into trouble.
Must be open to suggestions, redirection, and
cross training into other skill areas.
Interest in being part of a team and trying new
ideas to improve efficiency.
Brainstorming and thinking abilities are
required.
Must pass drug screen and background check.
